This is an interesting version in that the title gives away the entire alternate reality’s premise. It’s Marvel heroes, if they were apes. It’s surprisingly pretty decent, and in this version Spider-Man is now Spider-Monkey. Not surprisingly, he’s a spider monkey.

As I already mentioned, Marvel Pinball comes with four different tables. However, this is mostly like getting four different maps. These four tables offer their own subtle twists to a conventional pinball table, but, in the end, they all play largely similar to each other. You have a button to launch the ball, buttons for the left and right flipper, and the ability to tilt the table. That’s all. Although the game’s physics are spot-on with capturing exactly how a pinball machine should play in real life, I feel that there was a missed opportunity here. Just because you have true to life physics, that doesn’t mean you should be limited to simulating an actual pinball machine. There are some far-fetched scenarios on these tables already; for example: Wolverine and Sabretooth battle each other after hitting certain areas on the table. With that said, why not take it a step further, and offer something as fun and over-the-top as the characters that are featured. The first Marvel Zombies comic run has Galactus trying to take over, as he is wont to do; although with considerably different results than usual. If the game followed this as the main storyline, there’s plenty of time travel and alternate dimensions that could explain why Spider-Man has to go to other dimensions.

But during the Identity Crisis mini-series, Spider-Man took up each of these four suits as he was accused of murder with a bounty on his head. Wearing his Spidey suit was out, so he tried each of these out. Each one got discarded and eventually made it into the hands of four teenagers who were inspired by him. The series didn’t do very well, but I kind of liked it.
Con – With movies like Iron Man 2 , Spider-man 4 , The Incredible Hulk 2 , Thor , The Avengers and Captain America on the horizon, what does this mean for their development? Iron Man 2 is already in full swing so I doubt we see any type of delay with that one, but with no other pre-production or principle photography under way on some other films, could we see some eventual delay
