First up is the Battle Heart Tin featuring Pikachu EX. There have been tins released in the past which are always a good investment for collectors. This particular item depicts an embossed Pikachu on the lid below a clear plastic window. The lid is also depicts a contrasting pattern of a starry sky with a fiery background which makes it appear to subtly hint at Pokémon Sun and Moon. One could also imagine the celestial images as more mechanical which would represent Magearna and the fire is used for Volcanion. Both of these Pokémon, along with Pikachu, are printed along the sides of container. First we have a double dose of decks with Tropical Takedown and Twilight Rogue. The former features Alolan Exeggutor on the cover. It’s cleverly packaged as the long, neck divides the window of the box. Its contents, however, are what really counts. Alolan Exeggutor comes in with 160 HP which is good to start. Its attack is Tropical Shake which deals a measly 20 damage, but you add 20 more for every basic energy card in your discard pile (but can’t exceed 100). This ups its value as a member of your team and would benefit from going third or fourth in the battle, depending on varying circumstances. As long as there’s a good amount of energy cards in the pile, Exeggutor could wipe out plenty of threats. Alolan Sandslash comes with the deck as well and makes for a fair sweeper. Its ability allows you to draw a card before attacking which helps plan for future moves. Smash Turn needs three energy cards but wallops opponents with 50 damage; doing so means you have to switch it with a benched Pokémon. So, if you need to deal some quick damage and can swap into a beefier ally, Alolan Sandslash is handy.
Along with those powerful cards comes some fun things as well. You receive a huge, much larger version of the Charizard-GX. It can’t be used in legit competitions but makes for a nice collectible to be displayed. There are six booster packs from different sets. You will find cards from Guardians Rising and Burning Shadows expansions. A coin is included featuring Charizard. Use it during matches for certain attacks and other occurrences. Finally, show off a Charizard badge however you wish! It is fully colored and finely detailed. Place it on backpacks, clothing, purses and more to let everyone know your favorite Pokémon. These alone make the entire Charizard-GX Premium Collection well worth the price.
Both decks offer some hard-hitting action which means every opponent you face is going to have to step it up. There are a surprising amount of Dark and Ghost type Pokémon found in the decks. Perhaps that’s what happens when there is Forbidden Light. Strategizing shouldn’t be hard as most of the cards involved compliment each other in some way. Next up are a couple of Mythical Pokémon packs from the 20th anniversary celebration. We received both September and October’s sets which show off Victini and Keldeo , respectively. Both packages come with a collectible pin of the featured Pokémon, a special card for them, and two booster packs. Just a piece of advice, be sure to inspect them as closely as possible. Our Victini pin had just a bit of gold lining covered on its head from the injected enamel, it’s not going to be detrimental to a fan but it would be to a collector. In stores, check through every box possible before making your selection. The pins are definitely worth it for huge fans of these cuties. They are highly detailed and look great on display. Some fans pick these boxes up just for the pins alone. It really shows off how truly committed they are to their Pokémon partners.
